Burna Boy Makes History with Highest-Grossing Arena Concert in America

Burna Boy has etched his name in the annals of music history, achieving an unparalleled feat as the first African artist to headline the highest-grossing arena concert in America. This groundbreaking news was unveiled by Touring Data, a prestigious international platform renowned for meticulously tracking tour ticket sales across the US and Canada.

According to Touring Data’s latest report, Burna Boy shattered his own previous record, set in 2022, by amassing a staggering $1.593 million in ticket sales at the iconic TD Garden in Boston on March 2, 2024.

The resounding success of Burna Boy’s “I TOLD THEM” tour reverberated not only throughout the United States but also transcended continents. From the Scotiabank Arena in Montreal and Toronto to the TD Garden in Boston and Cologne in Germany, venues were packed to capacity, signaling the global resonance of his music.

In addition to the record-breaking revenue generated, Touring Data disclosed that Burna Boy’s tour sold an impressive 124,706 tickets, with an average ticket price of $93.50, resulting in a monumental total revenue of $11,659,531.

This historic milestone comes on the heels of Burna Boy’s electrifying video release for “City Boys,” serving as a precursor to the announcement of his highly anticipated “I TOLD THEM” tour.

Helmed by Live Nation, the 16-city tour kicked off on November 3 at the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, marking Burna Boy’s triumphant debut in a Los Angeles stadium. The tour crisscrossed prominent American cities, including Houston, Chicago, and Toronto, culminating in a spellbinding finale at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta on March 9th.

Burna Boy’s influence extends far beyond the realm of music, evident in the illustrious array of attendees gracing his concerts. From revered artists like Busta Rhymes and SZA to luminaries of the sports world, including NBA and NFL stars, his performances attracted a constellation of star power.

In recognition of his profound impact, Burna Boy was recently honored among the TIME 100 Most Influential People of 2024, further solidifying his status as a global cultural icon.
