Activist Morara Kebaso Reveals ODM Youth Leadership Journey and 2027 Presidential Bid

Activist and civic educator Morara Kebaso has revealed that he served as a youth leader in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party at the age of 22.

Speaking during an interview on Friday, December 13, Morara shared that he had used part of his Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) funds to pay for a premium ODM membership, which cost Ksh 20,000.

“I was a youth leader in ODM when I was 22 years old. I remember spending some of my HELB money to pay for a premium membership. I had a lot of hope in ODM and believed in it. My parents have also supported ODM,” Morara remarked.

Despite his earlier allegiance to ODM, Morara criticized the party leader, Raila Odinga, accusing him of aligning with the current regime and exploiting Gen Z protests for political gain.

Morara has since shifted his focus to his own political ambitions, announcing his bid for the presidency in 2027 under the banner of the INJECT party. He described the party’s commitment to economic transformation, combating corruption, and addressing national challenges as outlined in its constitution.

The activist gained national attention through his campaigns against stalled government projects linked to President William Ruto. His nationwide tour, branded under the hashtag “Vampire Diaries,” spotlighted the alleged misuse of taxpayer funds, earning significant traction on social media.

With his presidential bid, Morara is rallying support for what he envisions as a reformed Kenya, driven by integrity and progress.
