The National Assembly has officially released the schedule for vetting Cabinet Secretary nominees, ambassadorial candidates, and Public Service Commission (PSC) nominees. The vetting process is set to begin in January 2025, with respective committees conducting the evaluations.
Cabinet Secretary Vetting Schedule
According to Clerk of the National Assembly Samuel Njoroge, the Committee on Appointments will start vetting Cabinet Secretary nominees on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. The hearings will take place at the Mini Chamber on the first floor of County Hall, Parliament Buildings.
- Ministry of Agriculture & Livestock Development: Mutahi Kagwe – 12 PM
- Ministry of Information, Communications & the Digital Economy: William Kabogo – 3 PM
- Ministry of Investments, Trade & Industry: Lee Kinyanjui – 5 PM
Ambassadorial Vetting Schedule
The Departmental Committee on Defence, Intelligence, and Foreign Relations will assess ambassadorial nominees on Friday, January 10, 2025, in Committee Room 9, Main Parliament Buildings.
- Ambassador to Accra, Ghana: Margaret Nyambura Ndug’u – 9 AM
- Ambassador to Brasília, Brazil: Dr. Andrew Karanja – 11 AM
- UNEP/UNON Representative: Ababu Namwamba – 2 PM
- Ambassador to Port-au-Prince, Haiti: Noor Gabow – 4 PM
Public Service Commission Vetting Schedule
The Departmental Committee on Labour will evaluate nominees for the PSC on Thursday, January 9, 2025, starting at 8:30 AM in Committee Room 9, Main Parliament Buildings. Positions include the Vice-Chairperson role and multiple Member roles.
Public Participation and Requirements
The National Assembly invites the public to participate by submitting written statements supporting or contesting nominees’ suitability. Submissions must include supporting evidence and be delivered to the Clerk of the National Assembly by 5 PM, January 3, 2025.

Nominees are required to present the following during their vetting sessions:
- Original ID cards
- Academic and professional certificates
- Compliance documents from institutions such as the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, Kenya Revenue Authority, Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Higher Education Loans Board, Registrar of Political Parties, and a Credit Reference Bureau
