Peter Waithaka Macharia, a notorious violent criminal, has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for his involvement in a fatal armed robbery that led to the tragic death of Greek national Angelos Tsekilas.
According to a statement released by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Tuesday, February 11, Macharia and two accomplices carried out the robbery on October 15, 2022, along Menelik Road in Nairobi. During the attack, the gang shot Tsekilas in the chest before making away with valuables of undisclosed worth.

The suspect was later arraigned before the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Kibera on December 28, 2022, where he faced charges of robbery with violence under Section 296(2) of the Penal Code.
