The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a nationwide weather alert, warning of a sustained period of intense rainfall and extreme temperatures expected from Tuesday, April 22 to Monday, April 28.
In a detailed forecast released Monday evening, Director Dr. David Gikungu cautioned that the rains will be widespread and severe, especially in Nairobi, Central Kenya, the Rift Valley, Western regions, and parts of Northeastern and Southeastern Kenya.
“Residents across affected counties should prepare for heavy downpours, thunderstorms, potential flooding, and temperature extremes,” Dr. Gikungu advised.

- Counties Affected: Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Siaya, Busia, Kisumu, Migori, Homa Bay, and Nyamira.
