The East African Breweries PLC (EABL) has pledged KShs 190 million towards restoring water towers in Kenya, aiming to address climate change impacts, reduce carbon emissions, and alleviate water scarcity. The commitment, announced during World Water Day, follows a meeting between EABL’s parent company CEO, Debra Crew, and Kenyan President William Ruto. This contribution, consisting of two parts, aligns with Kenya’s water conservation strategy and aims to counter ongoing environmental degradation. The initiative, termed ‘Conservation at Scale,’ is part of collaborative efforts led by Kenya’s Executive Office of the President to tackle ecological threats and support national climate objectives. Additionally, EABL has committed KShs 60 million to enhance water conservation efforts in Nairobi’s key water source, the Upper Tana, through the Upper Tana Nairobi Water Fund Trust.
