Three men—Stephen Mutua, Tom Kioko Kitonga, and Abdul Mohammad—have been charged with violently robbing Eunice Nyambura of her Sh13,000 mobile along Outering Road in Embakasi, Nairobi. Intercepted by police during their attempted escape on a standby motorcycle, the trio also faces charges for possessing an imitation firearm. Police Constables Collins Amiani and Dennis Mugendi, on patrol in the area, stopped the suspects, who couldn’t provide a satisfactory explanation, leading to their detention. A search uncovered an imitation gun and five stolen mobile phones. Released on an Sh800,000 surety bond, the case is set to be mentioned on January 30, with the hearing scheduled for June 20, 2024.
