We’ve Seen This Script Before: Rigathi Gachagua Warns Western Region About Ruto

In a fiery exchange, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has accused President William Ruto of employing manipulative tactics to politically isolate the Mt. Kenya region. Gachagua claimed that Ruto was deliberately fostering fear among the region’s people to weaken their unity and resolve.

“It’s only President Ruto who has a problem with the people of Mt. Kenya,” Gachagua alleged. “He instructed MP Dan Wanyama to issue threats to our people. This is an attempt to instill fear and make us feel that unless we follow him blindly, we will be politically sidelined.”

Despite these accusations, Gachagua expressed confidence in the resilience and courage of the Mt. Kenya community.

“The people of Mt. Kenya are bold and steadfast. They will not succumb to fear or manipulation. Isolation tactics won’t work,” he asserted.

The remarks come shortly after President Ruto launched a scathing critique of Gachagua during a public address in Luanda, Vihiga County. Ruto accused Gachagua of failing in his leadership role, citing incompetence, corruption, and tribalism as key issues.

“There are individuals we entrusted with responsibilities, but due to incompetence, corruption, and divisive tendencies, they failed. I want to make it clear that Kenya has no room for tribalists or corrupt leaders who seek to divide us. Our nation will move forward as a united, indivisible country,” Ruto stated firmly.

This escalating war of words highlights growing tensions between the two leaders, raising questions about the political future of Mt. Kenya and the broader unity of Kenya’s leadership.
