Judge Orders Jacque Maribe’s Appearance in Court Amid Alleged Illness Drama

Judge Grace Nzioka, known for her straightforward approach, has ordered the appearance of former Citizen TV news anchor Jacque Maribe in court after she purportedly feigned illness on the scheduled judgment day related to the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani. Maribe’s legal team claimed her inability to attend the court session due to illness, but the judge dismissed this as a potential decoy and delay tactic. Nzioka is determined to proceed with the case and is set to rule on the guilt of Maribe and her former lover Joseph Irungu, also known as Jowie, while also determining a date for the final verdict. The murder of Monica Kimani occurred in 2018 at her Kilimani apartment, and the prosecution, supported by over 44 witnesses, contends that Maribe and Jowie had a shared intention to eliminate the victim.

In the previous month, Judge Nzioka had postponed the ruling, citing a late receipt of exhibits, which limited her time to adequately prepare the verdict. Despite the challenges, she remains resolute in ensuring a fair and timely resolution to the case, highlighting the severity of the crime and the importance of a thorough legal process in determining the guilt or innocence of the accused parties.
