Battle with Motor Neurone Disease
In May 2021, Otuoma was diagnosed with motor neurone disease, a debilitating condition that progressively damages the nervous system, leading to muscle weakness and atrophy. As the disease advanced, it significantly impaired his speech and mobility, confining him to a wheelchair and requiring continuous care.
Throughout this challenging period, his wife, Rachel Otuoma, provided unwavering support, standing by him with love and resilience.
Despite efforts from the football community and well-wishers to support his treatment, Otuoma’s health continued to deteriorate, culminating in his untimely death at the age of 31.
