Navigating the KUCCPS Portal for University Applications: A Guide on Accessing and Exploring

Last week, the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) opened its portal for the KCSE 2023 cohort, allowing them to choose their preferred programs and higher learning institutions. To assist students and parents in the application process, the placement service has released a comprehensive guide.

To initiate the application for placement, individuals need to access the student portal on the KUCCPS website. This can be done by searching for ‘KUCCPS Students Portal’ on their preferred search engine and then selecting ‘Student Login.’ Applicants are required to enter their KCSE Index Number, exam year, and a password, which could be their birth certificate number or KCPE Index number. If any issues arise during this process, individuals are encouraged to reach out to KUCCPS for assistance.

Upon successful login, applicants should navigate to the ‘Programme lists’ tab, where they can access documents containing information on KMTC programs, degrees, diplomas, certificates, and artisan programs. By selecting the desired program, a document in PDF format will download, providing details on available programs, program codes, previous cut-off points, and other essential information. Applicants are advised to note the program codes for the courses they intend to apply for.

Returning to the portal, applicants can then click on ‘Application/Revision’ to access forms for submitting the program codes at different levels. By entering the codes into the relevant form, the system will indicate whether the applicant meets the minimum requirements. Following confirmation, the applicant can proceed to click on the ‘Submit’ option.

A pop-up box will display payment instructions, which the applicant should follow as indicated. Once the payment process is completed, the system will confirm the successful application, marking the conclusion of the application process.
