Noordin Haji has officially assumed office as the Director General of the National Intelligence Service (NIS) following the endorsement of his nomination by the Defence and Foreign Relations Committee of Parliament.
As the current Director of Public Prosecutions, Haji will transition into this vital position in the coming days, taking over from Philip Kameru, who has led the NIS since September 2014 and is due to retire.
On May 16, 2023, President William Ruto formally nominated Haji for this esteemed role, in line with Section 7 (1) of the National Intelligence Service Act.

Before assuming the role of Director of Public Prosecutions, Haji demonstrated his unwavering dedication to the nation’s protection by serving as the Deputy Director of the Counter Organised Crime Unit within the NIS.
