President William Ruto has pledged financial support for the construction of a futuristic worship centre in Nairobi, which is expected to cost over Ksh 1.2 billion.
Jesus Winner Ministry, located in Roysambu, Nairobi County, plans to develop a state-of-the-art church featuring modern amenities, including a basement and exterior parking, as well as a helipad.
Grand Vision for Worship
Speaking to congregants on Sunday, March 2, Pastor Edward Mwai revealed that the church would be built on a 2-acre piece of land. He presented an artistic impression of the upcoming worship centre, emphasizing its unique architectural design.
The government has already facilitated land clearance and issued a title deed for the property. Additionally, President Ruto assured the congregation that a tarmac road leading to the church would be constructed to enhance accessibility.
Presidential Support and Fundraising
In a personal commitment, President Ruto pledged Ksh 20 million toward the church’s construction. His pledge came as he took a swipe at Catholic clergymen who had previously returned his Ksh 5 million offering.
“Show me in the Bible where it is written that when you give an offering, the bishop should return it. Some of us are products of giving to God, and I am unapologetic about it. In the construction of this church, besides all other promises, I will personally give Ksh 20 million first,” the president stated.
Additionally, Ruto announced plans to mobilize his friends for a fundraiser targeting Ksh 100 million to support the project.
“I have accepted to attend your fund drive. In the fundraiser, I will go organize with my friends and look for Ksh 100 million,” he declared, drawing cheers from the faithful.
A Visionary Church for the Future
The planned futuristic church aims to serve as a landmark place of worship, incorporating modern infrastructure and facilities to accommodate growing congregational needs. With government backing and presidential support, the project is set to be one of Kenya’s most ambitious religious developments in recent years.
