Safaricom Appoints Florence Nyokabi as Chief Human Resources Officer

Safaricom, a leading telecommunications company, has welcomed Florence Nyokabi as its new Chief Human Resources Officer. Nyokabi, with over 25 years of extensive experience in HR leadership across various African countries, brings a wealth of expertise to her new role. Her tenure commenced on April 1st, 2024, marking a pivotal moment for Safaricom’s human capital management.

In her capacity as Chief Human Resources Officer, Nyokabi will oversee pivotal aspects including talent acquisition, capability development, corporate centers, essential services and facilities, as well as health, safety, and wellness initiatives. Additionally, she is tasked with nurturing Safaricom’s corporate culture to foster continued success and growth within the telecommunications industry. Nyokabi’s transition to Safaricom follows a successful tenure at Standard Chartered Bank, where she served as Managing Director for Human Resources in West Africa, overseeing HR operations in several countries including Nigeria, Ghana, and Ivory Coast. With a Master’s degree from the University of Nairobi and a proven track record in HR leadership, Nyokabi’s appointment signifies Safaricom’s commitment to fostering a dynamic and inclusive work environment to drive organizational excellence.
