Renowned Ugandan musician Joseph Mayanja, popularly known as Jose Chameleone, was hospitalized on December 12 in critical condition. A video circulating on social media shows the frail artist being assisted out of a car and onto a stretcher before entering a Ugandan hospital. In response to public concern, Chameleone’s management issued a statement reassuring fans that he is receiving top-notch medical care and expressing optimism about his recovery. In 2023, he was hospitalized in the United States for stomach-related complications but recovered and returned to performing. Before that, he had been treated at Nakasero Hospital in Uganda for liver and pancreatic disorders.
