Dennis Itumbi and MP Mandazi Refute Claims of Alleged Altercations Among Top Leadership

Head of Presidential Special Projects & Creative Economy Dennis Itumbi has strongly denied claims that Farouk Kibet, a close aide to President William Ruto, slapped Deputy President Kithure Kindiki.

Itumbi’s Statement

In a statement on Wednesday, January 1, Itumbi described the allegations as baseless and aimed at sowing discord within the government.
“That Deputy President Kindiki Kithure was slapped by Farouk—Lies. There is no fallout. The President and his deputy are focused on implementing their agenda. This year, projects and programs will speak for themselves,” Itumbi stated on X (formerly Twitter).

He further emphasized Farouk Kibet’s calm demeanor and DP Kindiki’s relentless work ethic, countering the false claims circulating online.

MP Mandazi’s Rebuttal

Chepalungu MP Victor Koech, popularly known as Mandazi, also dismissed related allegations of a scuffle involving him and Farouk Kibet. In a statement on December 29, 2024, Mandazi condemned a fabricated letter alleging an altercation during a church service in Konoin.

“My attention has been drawn to a fake, malicious letter claiming a confrontation at Koiwa. The letter, devoid of a stamp, signature, or correct address, is a ploy by my rivals to tarnish my reputation,” Mandazi said.

Itumbi and Mandazi’s Unified Call Against Fake News

Both leaders strongly condemned the spread of false information, urging Kenyans to verify sources and avoid being misled by fabricated stories.

“This attempt to distract the government from its agenda is not only defamatory but undermines the principles of justice and fairness,” Mandazi concluded.

The government’s leadership remains steadfast, focusing on delivering its promises to the people, despite attempts to derail their progress with unfounded claims.
