Meru Governor Kawira Joins United Democratic Alliance (UDA)

Meru Governor Kawira Governor has officially become a member of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA). Mwangaza was formally embraced into the party by UDA Chairperson Cecily Mbarire and Secretary General Cleophas Malala. During the unveiling ceremony, Mwangaza emphasized that her decision to join followed extensive consultations and prayers. Asserting her commitment, she declared her readiness to collaborate with the party and expressed her intention to contest her gubernatorial seat under the UDA banner in the upcoming elections. “Through prayer and reflection, I have found clarity, and I am proud to declare my alignment with UDA.

There is transparency in my decision-making; in 2027, I will stand as a UDA candidate,” she declared. She also highlighted her friendship with President William Ruto and commended UDA for its support and empowerment of women. In her acceptance speech, Mwangaza appealed to Meru leaders to set aside political differences and unite for the common good. Describing her decision as a historic moment that would reshape Meru’s political landscape, she stressed the importance of unity. Embu Governor Mbarire congratulated Mwangaza on her decision to join the ruling party, affirming the party’s commitment to bolstering her aspirations. She echoed Mwangaza’s call for political tolerance within Meru County.
